1st CV EJ Summit (2013) [Inaugural]

After a twelve-month planning stage and almost four months of organization, research and collaboration, the Inaugural Environmental Health Leadership Summit for the Coachella Valley, took place on February 23, 2013, in Thermal. The Desert Mirage High School, home of the Rams, hosted the 2013 conference. Located in a designated California Environmental Justice area, the conference was FREE to anyone interested in attending.
The first of a series of events of this kind, the event received more than 200 attendants.

The EJ Summit received a Congressional Proclamation by Congressman Raul Ruiz, MD

Some of the summit’s innovations were the replacement of the bus tour with a virtual tour of the area, made entirely by students of Desert Mirage, and the live transmission (live streaming) of some parts of the event.
